It started with a barber named William Henry Ballard.
In 1949, Bill Ballard set up shop in Belmont and became known across town for his integrity, excellence and grace — he was Belmont's barber. In 2005, his great-grandson Preston Wilson opened William Henry Salon in his honor.
Today the family includes William Henry Salon in Belmont and Mount Holly, Smith & Ballard Salon Collective in McAdenville, a reimagined Ballard's Barbershop on Main Street and William Henry The Spa on Central Avenue.
